SPECIAL PERFORMANCE
Celebrating David's 75th Birthday

Open to All
Tuesday December 6th, 7 - 9pm
There will be cake and beverages to accompany the center jewel of the evening:
David performing his poems from his new collection - The Old Man's Poems

Legendary Firesign Theatre performer, poet and artist David Ossman presents an assemblage of assemblages and collages, typographical works, found objects and poetry brought together in several series of graphic works constructed over more than forty years. Few of these pieces have been seen before.

The exhibition which runs November 25 through January 1, includes the series "Western Story", using deconstructed messages from vintage pulp magazines, and "Winning the West", using vintage transfers to create violent action on rescued maps and handbills. The series "Piramides" uses transfer figures to provide historical drama to geometric objects found in a Spanish work book. "Found Monuments" presents a group of amazing imaginary monuments as might be found on the National Mall.

In addition there will be a number of framed and unframed hand set poems letterpress printed in very small editions and signed by the artist by the artist.

The opening night of David's exhibit will be held on Friday December 2nd and will coincide with Greenbank Farm's "First Friday" celebrations. The Whidbey Pies Cafe will be serving a special dinner menu and the Wine Shop, Cheese Shop, and all three galleries will be open to 8 PM.

A highpoint of the evening at our gallery will be David performing with the café haus jazz accompaniment of Duo Nouveau. David will be present all evening, and will perform briefly with Trio Nouveau during the artist's reception on December 2nd.
