And in my final Firesign contribution today: The Firesign FAQ says that Deacon E. L. Mouse was named after a pet beetle Phil Austin had. In fact, "El Mouse" was the name of Austin's VOLKSWAGEN beetle. In one radio show he notes that someone has pencilled the word "Nazi" between the words to make it "el Nazi Mouse", presumably because it was a German car.

Let's get our beetles straight.
